According to a new ABC permit filing, we have a new restaurant to look forward to in Carlsbad. The permit places Alejandra’s Cocina next to Westbluff Plaza Shopping Center on El Camino Real. The building had been occupied by now-closed Ignite Bistro and Wine Spot.

The business is linked to Grand Restaurant Group, who also operate Bellamy’s Restaurant, DiCicco’s Italian Restaurant, Nick and G’s, and others. Their collection of restaurants focuses on the gathering of family inside their comforting and elegant dining rooms, serving up uniquely authentic cuisine from Italian to American.

GRG is deep into family values, often naming their restaurants after family members and paying homage to their heritage. We don’t know who Alejandra is yet but “Cocina” suggests a Spanish or Mexican restaurant.

No other information about the restaurant concept is available at this time. Luckily, they’ve snagged a stellar location in the hills of Carlsbad. The building itself is reminiscent of Hacienda-architectural style, with a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy the local scenery.

For now, an Instagram account has been created but no other information is available.
