An’s Gelato, a San Diego-based gelato company known for its themed shop concepts, is getting ready to open a new location in Oceanside at 250 N. Pacific Street.
The company’s new location is set within the historic Top Gun House near the Oceanside Pier on the grounds of the Mission Pacific Beach Resort, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the shop is expected to debut in early summer 2026. Founded by Kris Warren, Travis Bailey, Jimmy Blalock, and David Aguilera, An’s Gelato will introduce a new concept called “An’s Gate D5,” featuring a travel-inspired experience with themed decor and a reimagined ordering process.
The Oceanside location will preserve the exterior of the 1888 Queen Anne style cottage, which was featured in the 1986 film Top Gun, while transforming the interior into a space modeled after a 1970s and 1980s U.S. airport. Plans include a security-gated entrance, a check-in counter for ordering, and queue lines with stanchions. The design will also incorporate travel-themed details and references to departure gates, along with Top Gun memorabilia throughout the space.
The menu will follow the company’s established format, offering seven rotating gelato flavors and one palate-cleansing sorbet, with flavors changing every two to three weeks. Each location develops its own menu, and the Oceanside shop will feature travel-inspired names, such as destination-based flavors. Sizes will follow the theme as well, labeled as carry on and checked bag.
The new location may also expand its offerings to include coffee drinks and affogato, which would be a first for the company. Since launching its first shop in 2018, An’s Gelato has created more than 600 flavors and operates several themed locations across San Diego. The company continues to grow at a measured pace, with a focus on local partnerships and maintaining its privately owned structure.
