Cafe Madeleine, a French restaurant inspired by sidewalk cafes in France, is getting ready to open a new location in South Park at 2971 Beech St.

The company’s third location is set to move into the former home of Oliver’s Hair Design, according to documents submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. This will be the company’s second location in South Park, following a site at 2248 30th Street. Now, the company is expanding once again, this time a little over half a mile from its previous South Park site. Slowly, Cafe Madeleine is taking over the surrounding areas of Balboa Park. There’s no timeline for this opening.

When the new location opens, customers can expect an art nouveau-style cafe featuring outside tables and crimson umbrellas lining the sidewalk. Customers can expect many breakfast options for food, ranging from croissant French toast to an andouille frittata. Cafe Madeleine, owned and operated by Christine Perez, also offers a variety of quiches, crepes, sandwiches, salads, and more. To complement the meals, the cafe also offers a variety of coffee drinks, as well as frappes, tea, beer, and wine.

“At Cafe Madeleine, we specialize in the best sweet and savory crepes & paninis in all of San Diego,” according to the company’s website. “All our food is made to order in front of each customer with the freshest premium ingredients available. We strive to be the best French restaurant in San Diego and to bring you consistent high-quality french food in a architectural ambiance of a Parisian cafe.”
