Brad Wise wants you to “take a seat and enjoy your meat,” well, meat from his North Park Butchery The Wise Ox. Since last fall, The Wise Ox Butcher and Eatery has been slicing meat and serving sandwiches to San Diegans.
“Inspired by the early 20th century when butcher shops were the heart of every neighborhood, The Wise Ox is bringing North Park the promise of the perfect cut for every occasion to enjoy with your favorite company,” says the company’s website.
The butchery offers an assortment pork, poultry, and dry-aged beef and wagyu. In addition, you can buy pre-marinated meats and sausages made in-house. And, perhaps most importantly, you can order customizable sandwiches to enjoy at the shop. All of this sounding pretty good?
Here’s the best part: The Wise Ox is expanding.
According to The San Diego Union Tribune, Trust Restaurant Group, the group behind Wise’s butcher shop, will open a second Ox in Carlsbad. The Wise Ox will open in The Beacon shopping center in a 1,314 square-foot retail space.
Look for your next great lunch at the southeast corner of El Camino Real and La Costa Ave this November.
