After making its move to the Mission Pacific Resort property, the Oceanside Victorian from the movie “Top Gun” is making progress toward opening. Charlie’s will round out the beachside hotel’s dining options as a dessert lounge. After being restored and redesigned, the restaurant has submitted their food permit plans to the city to move into the next phase of opening.
The restaurant is named after “Top Gun” character Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood, the home was featured in the movie but in reality holds historic value in Oceanside. Known as the Graves House, it was built in 1887 and transported by truck to the resort site in 2020.
The project is led by F10 Creative, based in Palm Springs. The hospitality group was also in charge of an on-site cafe and casual dining spot called High/Low, located on the ground floor of the hotel, which is now open for business.
According to a representative from Mission Pacific Resort, Charlie’s opening date is still TBD but expected in 2022. Be sure to check out the Mission Pacific Resort Website for information about their other restaurants: High/Low, Valle, and The Rooftop Bar.
