Deli Belly is growing with a fifth location planned and its first spot outside of East County. According to a recent permit filing, the New York-style deli will join Melrose Plaza in San Marcos.
Co-owners Shovan and Robert Bahri tell What Now San Diego they’ll open their first location in North County along with partner Vincent Shonia. Bahri says they hope the new spot will lead to further expansion in the area. Deli Belly currently operates locations in La Mesa, El Cajon, Lakeside, and Santee.
The menu at the new San Marcos locations will mirror their other East County shops, serving Boars Head deli meats and cheeses, with signature sandwiches like Frankie (a classic Italian sub) and the Chipotle So Gouda with chipotle chicken and chipotle gouda cheese. Deli Belly also offers soups, salads, and build-your-own sandwiches or wraps.
