Grab your favorite milk alternative, there’s a new vegan donut shop coming to town. Doughside Donuts are preparing to open up shop in O’Side. The business has grown from its start in a commercial kitchen and is ready for its own storefront at 417 South Coast Highway in Oceanside.

Owner Ryan Scott stands by Doughside as, “The Most Delicious A** Donuts.” If you catch a peek at their Instagram, the fluffy and fried-up treats look just as he’s described them. Some Doughside creations we can’t wait to try are the O’Side Creamsicle, S’mores, and Animal Cookie Donuts. You wouldn’t make a guess that they’re all vegan.

“They’re scratch-made, no speedy glazes or doughs. The universe brough me into the vegan stuff. I was originally doing vegan and original-style donuts and going up to a farm in Temecula, getting local chicken eggs for my dough. I couldn’t beat the vegan dough. It’s just better,” Scott tells What Now San Diego.

Doughside locked down their new space at the end of last year and it’s been a slow transition to open. Their new neighbors on South Coast Highway are Fat Joe’s Restaurant and Pacific Coast Spirits. Scott says we can expect an opening by December 2021. In the meantime, check out their crafty flavor combos on their socials.
