Fig Tree Cafe is finally making opening plans for their latest spot. The cafe had previously been reported to open in early 2022 and is currently in the permitting process to approve their fourth location in San Diego.

Their website confirms the next location will land in Mission Valley, replacing SanSai Japanese Grill on Hazard Center Drive.

Fig Tree Cafe is known for serving California classics for brunch and lunch. Their restaurants source fresh ingredients from local farms with menu options like the California Breakfast Burrito, Fig Jam & Ricotta French Toast, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich.

Rise & Shine Hospitality Group, founded by Johan Engman, operates Fig Tree Cafe locations in Pacific Beach, East Village, and Liberty Station, as well as The Breakfast Company in the Gaslamp plus another soon-to-open location in Mission Valley.

Engman tells What Now San Diego that Fig Tree Cafe is expected to open in Mission Valley in late January 2023. For more information and list of locations, visit their Website
