After a popular release last year from Barrio Logan’s ReBru Spirits, Longball is getting ready to open its first brick-and-mortar in Mission Hills at 4026 Hawk Street, Suite A.
When ReBru Spirits released Longball last year, it gave San Diegans a new hard iced tea beverage that quickly became a fan favorite, eventually becoming available throughout San Diego via Scout Distribution. Now, the drink is getting its own storefront, with Thorn Brewing founder Dennis O’Connor repurposing his Mission Hills tasting room at the end of the summer for Longball’s first brick-and-mortar, according to SanDiegoVille. The new bar is expected to open by year’s end and will feature an onsite golf simulator.
When Longball’s new facility opens later this year, customers can expect a variety of the company’s drinks, which contain real tea, real lemon, and natural flavors. On top of having plenty of Longball cocktails, the company will also have distilled spirits and merchandise available to customers. O’Connor was an integral part of the company’s rise in popularity, helping Longball’s then-CEO, Kerin Sovern, grow the company into what it is today. Since Sovern has left the company for Maniball Tequila, O’Connor has remained dedicated to the brand and is now getting ready to repurpose one of Thorn Brewing’s facilities into something new for Mission Hills. While it is not considered a sports bar, it will have a sports bar feel.
“We saw the need for a sessionable, refreshing beverage to keep the party going all day long,” according to the company’s website. “We believe in simplicity, which is why we use only three ingredients to craft our ready-to-drink hard iced tea. From an evening at the ballpark to an 18-hole round, Longball is the perfect companion for long days of sport. It’s more than just a beverage; it’s a celebration of the competitive spirit. Whether you drink Longball straight out of the bottle, or mixed in a cocktail, it’s your game!”
