The company’s fourth area location is possibly coming to the Mission Square Shopping Center, according to documents filed with the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Main Chick Hot Chicken currently has locations in Clairemont, Carlsbad, and San Diego’s Morena neighborhood, as well as a handful in Los Angeles. It’s unclear when this new location will open, considering the application is pending a consultation, and the eatery has yet to be identified in any lease brochures for the shopping center. Regardless, the filing demonstrates the company’s interest in expanding its presence in San Diego.
Main Chick Hot Chicken specializes in Nashville-style hot chicken with customizable spice levels ranging from no heat to extremely hot. The menu features chicken sandwiches, tenders, and bone-in pieces, all served with classic sides such as crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese.
