Makenna Koffee, a multi-location cafe brand offering coffee, teas, smoothies, and baked goods, is exploring a new location in El Cajon at 1275 Broadway.

The company’s potential new location could be moving into the current home of Cafe Bella, according to permit filings with the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the filing shows that Makenna Koffee is actively pursuing expansion into the area. If this location comes to fruition, customers can expect the brand’s signature lineup of espresso drinks, cold brews, blended chillers, smoothies, and a variety of house-made food items.

Makenna Koffee currently operates locations in Simi Valley, Valencia, Ventura, Camarillo, Westlake Village, and more, along with other locations under the brand name. Each cafe offers a broad menu that includes coffee-based drinks, specialty lattes, Red Bull energy drinks, and shakes, paired with breakfast and pastry items such as muffins, croissants, and breakfast sandwiches.

The cafe’s menu also features seasonal offerings, vegan and gluten-free options, and a range of alternative milk choices. The brand emphasizes a casual, approachable cafe experience, highlighting customization and variety for its customers. Its existing locations mix traditional coffee offerings with unique specialty drinks, catering to both morning routines and afternoon pick-me-ups.

This will be an excellent landing space for Makenna Koffee, given El Cajon’s central Broadway corridor and established local businesses. The location provides an opportunity to introduce the brand to San Diego County while serving regular coffee customers and newcomers to the area.

While no owners or managers have publicly commented on the El Cajon site, the filing confirms that Makenna Koffee is moving forward with establishing a presence in the city. Customers interested in following the progress can monitor public records for permit updates as the company works toward opening.
