Mike’s Red Tacos is gearing up for an expansion with a second location. According to site plans for Loma Square, the Birria restaurant will install in a 2,100-square-foot space in the Point Loma shopping center.
Operating as a food truck that launched in Bay Park in 2021, hoards of locals would line up for Mike’s Red Tacos’ famous birria dishes. The mobile eatery opened its first restaurant in Clairemont Mesa in the summer of 2022.
Specializing in juicy birria tacos with consomé dipping broth, Mike’s Red Tacos offers upgraded dishes like birria ramen, quesadillas, California burritos, and their signature Crunchstack, a loaded tortilla filled with crispy tostadas, melty cheese, birria, with cilantro and onions.
An opening date for Mike’s Red Tacos in Point Loma is yet to be announced. For now, catch up with Mike’s Red Tacos at their original restaurant location on Genessee Avenue and on Instagram.
