Mike’s Red Tacos is gearing up to open their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Clairemont. The Mexican restaurant will soon open at Liberty Park Plaza, near the intersection of Genesee and Balboa Avenue.
After a successful run as a food truck which launched in Bay Park in June 2021, open only on Saturdays with locals flocking to the truck for a taste of what’s promised as “World’s Best Birria.” They’ve since closed down mobile operations as of this month as they prepare their full-service restaurant.
Run by Owner Michael Touma, Mike’s Red Tacos serves up traditional birria tacos with consomé dipping broth, cheesy mulitas, plus some upgraded dishes like birria ramen. A popular menu item is their signature Crunchstack, a loaded tortilla filled with crispy tostadas, melty cheese, birria, with cilantro and onions.
Mike’s Red Tacos is expected to open in Clairemont in Summer 2022. Until then, keep drooling over their birria pics by following their Instagram.
