Mission Brewing is getting ready to double its locations within San Diego by acquiring two spaces in Miramar and on the UCSD campus in La Jolla.
The company, led by Kenneth Little, recently submitted two separate liquor license applications for small beer manufacturer permits for 8830 Rehco Road, Site D in Miramar, and 3869 Miramar Street in La Jolla. These locations were either last housed or are currently used by Rough Draft Brewing Company. Mission Brewery is expected to activate these spaces in the coming months, doubling its locations, with sites already in Kensington and Downtown.
Mission Brewery was established in 1913 and, like most breweries of the time, went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, the brand was re-established, and the company eventually relocated the manufacturing and the tasting room to Downtown San Diego in the Historic Wonder Bread Building in the East Village. Mission Brewery now boasts a 2,500-square-foot tasting room in over 25,000 square feet of total space. Once the transaction is complete, Rough Draft Brewing will have only one location at Del Mar Highlands’ Sky Deck.
“Mission Brewery proudly serves its heritage by continually producing quality beers,” according to the company’s website. “Mission Brewery, in its modern rendition, has been brewing commercially for over 14 years. With over 50 National and International awards under its belt, Mission Brewery is considered one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.”
