A brand new Pakistani fusion food truck called Dirdy Rice N Chicken is preparing to debut next year in Chula Vista.

While the food truck is in the early stages of development, owner Kashif Majeed tells What Now San Diego that it is expected to open in late February 2025. When it does, customers can expect traditional street cart chicken and rice, gyros, and more, all served with a special sauce. Majeed says he is trying new recipes to add a fusion twist to the concept, such as masala queso sound over chopped beef, mango lassi, and hot chai.

This is a massive accomplishment for Majeed, a Pakistani-American who tells What Now San Diego that he has always wanted to start a new business venture and has been dreaming about this one for years. While the food truck is still a few months away from opening, the business owner is actively searching for a line cook to help him with it. Compensation starts at $25/hr + tips + opportunities for overtime on catering events.

If this food truck proves successful, Majeed imagines expanding the business to include more trucks throughout San Diego. For now, he will focus on this first location, bringing Pakistani food to Chula Vista, which doesn’t see much of this cuisine. Once the food truck launches next year, it will be found throughout the South Bay and available for events and other catering requests.
