Farmers Market regulars Sabor Piri Piri is planning their first brick-and-mortar restaurant space in National City. The Southeast African restaurant has leased a 480-square-foot space at the base of the brand new Parco development, adjacent to the Market on 8th Food Hall.

Sabor Piri Piri specializes in Mozambican cuisine, serving up freshly made vegan and chicken curry bowls, samosas, and vegan wings in a sweet and spicy sauce. True to their name, they also produce their own bottled piri-piri hot sauce.

The site which debuted last October is a unique mix of micro units, co-living suites, and townhomes. A mix of luxury living with retail and restaurant spaces at the base, the site comes as Downtown National City is seeing a major revitalization.

With the majority of residential spaces leased, Phil Emery with AE Commercial is filling in the ground level commercial space. Emery says they’re looking for the right synergy among their retail tenants and have so far secured three new tenants to join Parco.

What Now San Diego reached out to Sabor Piri Piri for more details on the new location and will update with details as they become available. For now, you can find them at weekly farmers markets in Pacific Beach, North Park, and Oceanside. Follow on Facebook for more information.
