Paris Baguette, the neighborhood bakery café concept with 4,000 cafés worldwide, is preparing to open a new location in San Diego at 11962 Bernardo Plaza Drive, Suite 130.
Jimmy Wu, a California resident who is pioneering the additional growth and leading the brand’s expansion in California, has secured real estate in the Rancho Bernardo Town Center for the upcoming location, according to a recent press release. Wu is expected to open this site in the fourth quarter of 2024. The San Diego deal will bring the total number of bakery cafés within California to 60. Last year, the company closed out 2023 with 100 signings and 43 openings across North America
“This location is an excellent location to best serve the San Diego neighborhood, and we are looking forward to opening Paris Baguette in San Diego in the near future,” Wu said in a press release.
As Paris Baguette looks to its future growth, the brand stays nimble. Though they are currently eyeing Wisconsin, Indianapolis, North Florida, Vermont, the greater Boston area, South Carolina, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas for 2024 growth, Paris Baguette is embracing a flexible development pathway that will adjust as the brand lays more roots across the country.
“We are thrilled to announce additional expansion within California. There’s a tremendous amount of opportunity in the bakery café space,” Eric Lavinder, chief development officer, said in a press release. “No other bakery café franchisors are doing what Paris Baguette is on the same scale. Our ability to stay true to our bakery café roots while embracing aggressive expansion has garnered attention, and that only serves to drive us forward.”
