Queenstown Bistro, a patio bar and eatery located in Westfield UTC Shopping Center specializing in New Zealand-inspired dishes and offerings, is opening a new location in Del Mar at 1435 Camino Del Mar, Suite D.
The company’s fourth Queenstown concept is set to open in the former home of WestBrew Del Mar at the corner of Camino Del Mar and 15th Street, first reported by SanDiegoVille. Co-owner Phillip “PJ” Lamont confirmed the information with What Now San Diego but couldn’t share an official opening date. The 2,400-square-foot New Zealand-inspired restaurant will have indoor and outdoor seating and offer grass-fed burgers, sandwiches, shareables, or handcrafted New Zealand faves. Queenstown Bistro is also dog-friendly.
It is currently unclear when Lamont and co-owner Matt Baker will open the second location of Queenstown Bistro. This expansion comes nearly two decades after the duo launched their first Bare Back Bar & Grill establishment in Pacific Beach. After opening and closing a second location downtown, they decided to establish Queenstown Public House in Little Italy. They later expanded with Queenstown Bistro at Westfield UTC Mall and Queenstown Village in La Jolla Village. Additionally, the duo owns Raglan Public House in Ocean Beach and Dunedin in North Park. All of their restaurants offer delicious New Zealand-themed food and drinks.
“Whether it be for breakfast or brunch for weekend mimosas, grass-fed burgers for lunch, or dinner on the patio for some of our locally sourced, seasonal salads and wine varietals, there is sure to be something for everyone at Queenstown Bistro,” according to the company’s website. “Visit us online to decide which of our grass-fed burgers and sandwiches is the best for you. And with a beer list changing daily, proudly from our award-winning local San Diego craft breweries, you’ll always find something perfect to pair it with at the bar.”
