Raising Cane’s, the national fast food chain with sites across the country, plans to open even more San Diego locations in a couple of years.
Since the company made its area debut in Santee five years ago, Raising Cane’s has opened nine locations throughout the county, including three since June. There is no slowing down for the company, which has already committed to opening 100 new restaurants yearly moving forward. In San Diego, Raising Cane’s plans to open two or three restaurants in the area in 2025, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The company doesn’t plan to open any new San Diego sites in 2025.
Previously, What Now San Diego reported a new location coming to Power at 12665 Poway Road. City Council approved plans for the new restaurant, but an exact opening date was never determined. Now, it’s been clarified that this is one of the two or three new locations expected to open in 2025. The other locations have yet to be established as the company is still scouting potential sites.
“They were coming from the South Bay and lots of other places,” Santee Councilmember Laura Koval tells Union-Tribune. “It’s evened out since then, but they’re still plenty busy. They figured out their traffic control — the egress and ingress. As a lifelong San Diegan, I had never heard of Raising Cane’s before they came to Santee. When I looked them up, I was amazed at the following they have. And it makes sense — it’s a really great product.”
