The famous Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles is on track to open their first San Diego location later this year in Barrio Logan. The 6,000-square-foot restaurant is currently in construction on National Avenue and will feature indoor and outdoor seating.

Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Long Beach, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles has remained independently owned by Founder Herb Hudson. The restaurant specializes in soul food, serving homestyle fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, sandwiches, and lots of secret recipes unique to Roscoe’s.

You can currently get their famed Chicken and Waffles in eight locations across the LA and Orange County areas.

Roscoe’s representative Diane Vara tells What Now San Diego the company is excited to bring new jobs and opportunities to San Diego and will bring along their top management team from the LA market to train.

This is the company’s first venture this far South in California but Vara hints at more expansion in the future, sharing, “We’ve rolled around possibilities of expanding to NorCal or Vegas.”

We can expect Roscoe’s to open in Barrio Logan by Fall/Late 2022. Stay updated by following Roscoe’s on Instagram.
