Savory Farms, a new gourmet market and deli featuring artisanal cheeses, fine charcuterie, fresh-baked bread, wines, and ready-to-go foods, is preparing to make its debut in Carlsbad at 5621 Palmer Way, Suite A.
The new concept is the latest from Pascal Besset, founder of Angel’s Salumi & Truffles, according to the company’s website. Scheduled to open in Summer 2025, next door to Angel’s Salumi in the Carlsbad Gateway Center, Savory Farms offers a curated selection of premium products and restaurant-quality prepared meals. From quick breakfast options to elegant dinner solutions, the market provides everything food lovers need for everyday meals and special occasions. The knowledgeable staff is available to offer personalized recommendations and guide customers through their selections.
Pascal Besset’s culinary roots trace back to the South of France, a region known for its deep passion for exceptional cuisine. After receiving formal training in Hotel and Restaurant Management in Paris, he refined his craft through an apprenticeship in Monte Carlo and 15 years of mentorship under renowned Chef Cesar Merlino. His expertise has been showcased in prestigious kitchens across Europe, including Monte Carlo, Corsica, and Paris, before he brought his talents to California at the age of 30. His career spans six five-star hotels on two continents, with three ranked among the world’s Top 10, positioning him as a visionary in both European tradition and California innovation.
Savory Farms represents the latest chapter in Besset’s commitment to delivering exceptional food experiences. The concept builds on the success of Maison F. Crayssac and Angel’s Salumi and Truffles, which he founded in 2010 to bring artisanal charcuterie and truffle products to North County San Diego and beyond. This new venture combines his extensive experience in fine foods with his passion for high-quality ingredients. It is the culmination of his culinary journey—a comprehensive destination where quality, authenticity, and accessible gourmet experiences converge under one roof.
