Scotty B’s, a local burger and barbecue concept focused on bold flavors and fresh ingredients, is getting ready to open in Imperial Beach at 875 Seacoast Drive.

The company’s new location is set to open in the former home of Champion Field, according to a recent liquor license application. Owner Scott Landy recently announced on Facebook that the restaurant is slated to launch on September 15. The menu will include burgers, hot dogs, and weekend-only breakfast, served in a casual setting designed for both locals and beachgoers.

Scotty B’s originated in Imperial Beach, where Landy began grilling burgers in a bar space that had no food service. With minimal kitchen equipment and a focus on flavor, he quickly built a loyal following. What started as a side project soon became a full-time business that outgrew its original setup.

This new location brings the business back to the neighborhood where it started, but with a larger footprint and a refreshed look. Landy noted that the remodel has taken time, but that the team is ready to share the updated space and expanded menu with the community. Customers can expect late-night hours, scratch-made items, and a neighborhood-oriented vibe.

The menu includes a variety of burgers and hot dogs, along with sides like fries, jalapeño poppers, and loaded nachos. The restaurant will also offer weekend breakfast from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and catering is available for private events.

Landy credits community support and family encouragement—particularly from his father-in-law—as key factors in turning a small-scale burger idea into a sustainable local business. Scotty B’s aims to continue that tradition with its newest location on Seacoast Drive.
