As the founder of Serbesa Craft Beer and Filipino Kitchen, Khris Astudillo “envisioned a place where San Diego’s rich craft beer culture and traditional Filipino cuisine would combine to create the same family atmosphere he experienced as a child during his family get-togethers.” Now Astudillo is focusing on just the craft brews at his new addition to the San Diego beer scene: Paradise Hills Brewing Company.

According to San Diego Beer News, Astudillo had planned to open the brewery before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. In 2020, he collaborated with the founder and brewer for Home Brewing Co. to produce beers for Serbesa like the Manok & Baboy Lager.

We were unable to reach Astudillo for comment at the time of publication, so we can’t currently provide details on the opening timeline. San Diego Beer News reports as recently as this month Astudillo is working on bringing PHBC to North Park. He will contract brewers to create stouts, sours, and lagers, as well as hazy and double IPAs.

You can follow the company’s Instagram for updates on opening plans.
