Space Kat BBQ recently announced on social media that they’re working on a second location of their mobile kitchen with a brand new concept. Space Kat BBQ is temporarily closed with an anticipated reopening in December

Operating out of a food truck located behind the Aero Club Bar in the Middletown neighborhood, Space Kat shared with transparency what had sparked their closure earlier this month. “We have been faced with a minor speed bump that we are working round the clock on fixing. Full disclosure, we have been temporarily shut down by the city due to the fact that our serving window is too large and is not up to code,” shares Owner and Pitmaster Jack Zizzo. The barbecue spot assures guests they’ll be firing up the smoker very soon.

Established in 2017, Space Kat BBQ serves out of this world California BBQ dishes. By the plate or by the tray, you can sample a mix of their smoked meats like the brisket, tri tip, ribs, chicken thighs, hot links, and Texas Twinkies aka cheese-stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon.

More details on the second location are forthcoming but the brand is staying quiet for now. A recent mobile food permit filing places their new host home in the Point Loma area but details are unconfirmed. Stay updated by following Space Kat BBQ on Instagram
