San Diego’s Largest Pickleball Club to Launch Next Month

What’s being called the fastest growing sport in America, pickleball is about to get a new dedicated facility in San Diego. The Hub is preparing to launch in Spring Valley, with professional grade courts, gathering spaces, and a restaurant and bar. 

Owner Pat Rolfes tells What Now San Diego the club will be the largest in San Diego County with 26 courts, including two grandstand courts for professional tournaments. The Hub will be host to their first professional tournament in March, which will be aired on ESPN 2. 

If you’re not already familiar with pickleball, The Hub is prepared to train you on your next sporting obsession.

“Between Christmas and New Year’s we’ll be hosting a free preview, offering beginner instruction, free clinics, ahead of our official opening on January 2nd,” explains Rolfes. Their expansive pro shop is equipped with 450+ skus of pickleball-related items to set you up for success at their facility.

Rolfes describes The Hub as a social place, featuring plenty of areas for visitors and groups to gather, shaded areas, fire pits, outdoor grill as well as a full commercial kitchen and bar. The Hub’s liquor license is pending approval but their restaurant will specialize in healthy fare, featuring a menu of salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and more.
