Cohn Restaurant Group is no small operation. The family-owned and operated hospitality company currently operates 24 restaurants within SoCal and Maui. What Now San Diego recently covered the proposed opening of Tupelo, a new concept headed to San Marcos.
Tupelo won’t be lonely there—a recent Craigs List advertisement indicates Draft Republic, the restaurant group’s beer joint, will soon join. According to the ad, “Cohn Restaurant Group is looking for a creative Executive Chef and Sous Chefs for a new Draft Republic location opening in San Marcos.”
The Americana-inspired gastro pub offers ‘innovative American cuisine’ and plenty of beer. Currently, Draft Republic is open for service in La Jolla, where you can find 38 beers on tap, and Carlsbad, where you can find over 100. In addition to the brews, you can find generous cocktail and wine lists.
In addition to daily specials, the pub serves up small bites like Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower, their signature Buttermilk Chicken Lollipops, and BoBeau’s Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Salads, pizzas, and burgers and sandwiches are also on the menu.
