Verde Market & Cafe is preparing to debut in La Jolla Village. The new marketplace for gourmet foods will replace Lean and Green Cafe inside the Merrill Lynch Building on Fay Avenue

Operating Partner and Chef Alec Hurley tells What Now San Diego the concept will bring together high-end products and gourmet prepared meals and is sure to be a one stop shop for locals and visitors alike.

The cafe menu will be kept simple and elegant, with seasonal and 100% organic ingredients. Guests can expect fresh-pressed juices, scratch-made nut milks, grab-and-go lunches in compostable packaging, family-style trays of prepared meals, and more.

“Our target market includes folks who want to grab a basket of food to take down to the beach to enjoy. Or someone looking for an after-work meal to bring home to the family, they’ll get a delicious meal to reheat at home with no clean up,” shares Hurley.

In the marketplace, guests can pick up a number of expertly sourced products like wine and beer from Baja. Guests can purchase bottles to go or for on-site consumption.

Verde Market & Cafe is expected to open in January 2023. Follow them on Instagram for updates and a preview of what’s to come.
