Belly Up is an intimate, local entertainment venue that’s been bringing artists to Solana Beach since 1974. Legends like Etta James and BB King frequented the concert hall. More recently, Mumford and Sons, No Doubt, Willie Nelson, and The Killers have graced the hall. Belly Up Entertainment also promotes programs and shows at other venues and is a leading independent production company in the area.
So if you’re in the San Diego music scene, you’ve probably heard of them.
But have you heard the company recently opted to transform their bistro-style restaurant into a new concept? You will soon be able to dine in the evening at Tavern, the new eatery replacing Wild Note Café.
Tavern, currently open for lunch, will open ‘soon’ for dinner service. According to Tavern’s website, the eatery space is ‘newly remodeled’ and ‘much airer.’ “Tavern is all about art, music and above all great food…the Tavern adds a distinctly Mexican/Pacific Coast set of flavors to the local fine dining scene.” Executive Chef Guillermo Vasquez and chefs Izzy Balderas and Jorge Benitez will work together to produce refined, seasonal dishes.
The eatery has indoor and outdoor fining with a patio that can accommodate 18 guests. Visit Tavern’s website for more information.
