Inspection Findings at Bodega
Food inspectors of the San Francisco Department of Public Health noted a range of food safety violations at Bodega. They first asked the wine bar’s representatives to get a food safety certificate and food handler cards for the staff. Additionally, the inspectors reported missing wash sink supplies and hot water at Bodega.
In their inspection report, the officials of the San Francisco Department of Public Health mentioned that raw shell eggs were held at 68°F. They then asked the San Francisco-based bar to discard the eggs.
Rodents were reportedly present near bags of rice in storage. Droppings were also found in the basement of stored equipment, on the floors, on sheet pans, etc.
Apart from this, they reported the issue of dead cockroaches on the adhesive board near the water heater.
The report by inspectors of the San Francisco Department of Public Health noted that Bodega was using a mop sink and an ice machine to remove water waste. Plus, the San Francisco food facility was not using an evaporation tray for the ice machine. Furthermore, inspectors noted that there was damage to the basement’s ceiling as well.
As per violations noted by the San Francisco Department of Public Health, the New American Bistro will have to take corrective action. It has also been given 15 days to request a hearing to contest Bodega’s suspension order.
