Bend, Oregon-based axe-throwing and dining venue Unofficial Logging Co. is planning to debut its first Bay Area location.

Coming to San Jose’s Passeo Project — an Urban Catalyst development currently underway at 201 S Second Street — the business will neighbor establishments such as Hammer Theatre Center, Plaza de Cesar Chavez, and the San Jose Museum of Art.

Co-Owner John Heylin tells What Now San Francisco that the upcoming locale will boast a bar area and 12 to 15 lanes, each with its own dining table.

On the menu, patrons can expect “group grub,” or bar food made with large groups and events in mind — think options such as burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken wings, fried pickle spears, loaded nachos, and salted pretzels, to name a few — and, to wash it all down, 15 taps of craft beer and ciders, as well as wine.

San Jose residents can expect Unofficial Logging to open early next year.
