Uptown Oakland’s Belly is plotting a second location. A pending beer and wine license found in state public records indicates that Belly will be taking over The Hideaway in Rockridge at 5634 College Ave.

Owner Alice Woo confirmed the move with What Now San Francisco this month, adding that she and her team are aiming to open mid-spring. That said, Belly’s Rockridge debut is all dependent on the anticipated arrival of some of their equipment, which have fallen victim to supply chain delays.

But soon enough, Rockridge will get to nosh on the simple gourmet Asian fusion fare that Belly does best. As a modern California restaurant, Belly mixes elements of Asian, Mexican, and American cuisine into a no frills menu that puts its fresh ingredients on the forefront.

From the Belly Taco (House Marinated Steak, Rice, Korean Slaw, Kimchi Aioli) to the Shrimp + Avocado Burrito (Shrimp Tempura, Avocado, Sesame Slaw, Sambal Aioli, Pico de Gallo, Lime-Cilantro Crema, Multigrain Rice) there will always be something to #FillYourBelly.

Check out www.bellyuptown.com for more information and in the meantime, visit their original location at 1901 San Pablo Ave.
