According to a recently submitted permit application, Chef Roy Lam of Berkeley’s Alley Kitchens plans to debut a new restaurant in the city.

Coming to 2400 Bancroft Way, Suite A, the yet-to-be-named concept will land near establishments such as Cal Performances, The Musical Offering Cafe-Bistro, and Yogurt Park.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Lam to inquire about the upcoming eatery, but he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Alley Kitchens, the restaurant is known for “ramen, matcha & Japanese bites offered in snug surrounds inspired by Tokyo’s street-food cafes,” according to its website.

In addition to ramen, its menu boasts traditional Japanese seafood rice bowls, or umidon, options such as Takoyaki (octopus balls), a Deluxe rainbow chirashi bowl, and Teriyaki chicken.

An opening date for the spot has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
