Cajun-style restaurant Fat Maddie’s Barrelhouse & Bistro closed this year after less than two years in business, and now it looks like a new bistro is sliding into its spot.

Chef Bradley Zeller has applied for a liquor license for Crescent Bistro in the vacant space at 45 Crescent Drive at the downtown Pleasant Hill shopping mall.

Zeller, who has been executive chef at Aramark Lifeworks Restaurant Group, San Francisco’s jazz-themed Old Skool Cafe, and Walnut Creek’s Va de Vi Bistro and Wine Bar, was not immediately available for comment.

No opening date has been announced yet, but we love a good bistro dinner (and a martini) after a long day of shopping, so stay tuned for more details.
