Eel River Brewing Co. is temporarily moving production to 110 Sandholm Lane #10 in Cloverdale — home to Bear Republic Brewing Co.’s production facility and office.

Co-owner Matt Vivatson tells What Now San Francisco that Eel River is temporarily using Bear Republic’s production facility while Eel River builds a new facility on its property in Fortuna.

The family-owned, “eco-conscious brewpub featuring organic craft beer” has been around since ’95 and has one pub and beer garden at 1777 Alamar Way. On the menu are appetizers like breaded cheese curds, onion rings, calamari, and spicy pork rinds, and small plates such as wings, salads, and soups. For customers looking to enjoy a full meal, Eel River serves a variety of burgers and sandwiches that they consider to be “pub classics.” They also offer “vegetarian, gluten-free, and local items… including fresh local seafood when available,” according to the company website.

In addition to Eel River’s organic beer options, the “award-winning” brewery produces seasonal and specialty beers, and is known for its brew Emerald Triangle — “a bold, West Coast-style IPA bursting with pine and citrus notes supported by a solid malt backbone.”

Vivatson shares that construction will begin soon and expects the Fortuna production facility to be fully operational by summer 2023.
