According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, Bay Area pizzeria chain Giorgio’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria is expanding — planning to debut a new outpost in Mountain View.
Coming to 939 W El Camino Real — a spot formerly home to Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi Too! — the eatery will land near establishments such as Mr. Sun Tea, Oh Honey Macaron, and RRR Biryanis.
“Giorgio’s will be housed in a mixed-use building that will have another commercial tenant on the ground floor and 60 units of memory care on the 2nd and 3rd floor,” the concept shares on its website.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Giorgio’s offers a brief introduction: “In February of 1959, Frank and Concetta (Tina) along with their ‘Paisans’ Mario and Enza Volpe, opened the original ‘Giorgio’s Pizza House,’ named after an old friend of theirs, in the Foxworthy shopping center in San Jose.”
“In 1997, a second Giorgio’s location was established in the Milpitas Town Center” and “in 2022, Giorgio’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria in downtown Morgan Hill was opened featuring new menu items from the grill, as well as one of the largest outdoor dining areas in the Bay Area.”
An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow Giorgio’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria on Facebook for updates.
