In March, decades-old diner Tyger’s Coffee Shop closed after nearly thirty years of service.

A neighborhood favorite known for its no-frills atmosphere, the closure came as a blow to regulars who’d grown accustomed to its classic diner menu.

Now, Glen Park Cafe is set to take the old diner’s place at 2798 Diamond Street. Owner Damon Victorson declined to comment on when, exactly, the cafe will open its doors, but has filed a permit and hopes to have more information about the new restaurant’s opening soon.

So Tyger’s regulars should start crossing their fingers for joint with a classic cup o’ joe and a good scramble.
