Golden Owl, a La Puente-based Burmese restaurant that shuttered about four years ago, looks to be reopening in Berkeley.
In March 2019, the business shared on its Facebook page, “As many of our customers already know, The Golden Owl is permanently closed at the current location. Thank you very much for your massive support on our last days. We do not have a plan yet to open another location anytime soon, but I am figuring out ways to continue to serve The Golden Owl food. Please give me some time.”
According to a recently approved business license application, the time is now.
Coming to 1926 Shattuck Avenue, Golden Owl will take over a 120-square-foot space formerly home to Cousins Asian Street Food, near establishments such as Berkeley Espresso, Marugame Udon, and Triple Rock Brewing.
Based on the filing, Golden Owl will be a full-service restaurant that offers beer and wine.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Owner Kyaw Sein to inquire about the upcoming concept, but they were unable to provide additional information before publication.
An opening date has not yet been announced. Follow the eatery on Facebook for further updates.
