According to a permit application recently submitted to the City of Berkeley, Grounded Coffee Co. plans to open a coffee shop in Berkeley.
Coming to a nearly 600-square-foot spot at 2125 Durant Avenue, the cafe will land near establishments such as Beta Lounge Bar & Kitchen, Gold Bean Cafe, and Great China.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s contact, Joshua Moore — a “UC Berkeley alum and real estate innovator” who is also the owner of Vacare, LLC — to learn more about the concept; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, a brief description on the filing states, “We serve brewed coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and packaged beverages. The shop also offers packaged coffee beans and prepackaged food items such as snacks and sandwiches… All items are for on-site enjoyment or takeaway. No alcohol or controlled substances are sold.”
An opening date has not been announced yet. Follow What Now San Francisco on Facebook for updates to this story.
