Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, a Japanese master chef, will open his ramen concept, Momosan Santana Row, this September. Located inside San Jose’s 378 Santana Row, the dining experience will feature the Iron Chef’s take on Momosan dishes, plus a diverse selection of private label beer, wine, whiskey and sake.

“I look forward to opening Momosan Santana Row in San Jose’s innovative premier eat, work, live and play neighborhood this September,” said Iron Chef Morimoto in a statement. “Momosan is a very personal restaurant for me as this is the type of food that reminds me of my childhood in Hiroshima. Momosan, which also happens to be a nickname of mine, is about enjoying ramen, playful dishes, beer and sake in a fun, casual environment. Kanpai!”

At Momosan Santana Row, noodles will be front and center, highlighting Chef Morimoto’s varieties of Japanese-style flavor-forward ramen. The menu will offer a variety of appetizers and Japanese bar snacks, as well as Momosan-style Japanese A5 dishes. The restaurant will also feature Izakaya plates and shareable creations.

The beverage menu will feature a sake list of spirits including Chef Morimoto’s signature Fukumitsuya sake, Grgich Hills Estate Morimoto ‘Dream’ wine, cocktails, and Chef Morimoto’s signature beers and whiskey brewed by Rogue Ales.

Momosan Santana Row is Chef Morimoto’s sixth Momosan location. His first ramen shop opened in New York City in 2016, followed by locations at Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, Wynwood District in Miami, Florida and the most recent at Hub Hall in Boston.

The 90-seat restaurant will offer indoor and outdoor dining and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
