According to a recently submitted permit application, the Berkeley-based eatery My Oh My Shawarma is preparing to open at a new address in the city.
Coming to 2431 Telegraph Avenue, the restaurant will land near establishments such as the sandwich spot Mezzo, the Chinese food restaurant Noodle Dynasty, and the ice cream shop The Yard Milkshake Bar.
What Now San Francisco spoke briefly with the concept’s co-owner, Abdul Ahmadi, to learn more about his plans for the upcoming spot; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the restaurant describes itself as serving halal “Canadian-inspired Mediterranean food” in its Instagram bio. It currently operates at 1866 Euclid Avenue — neighbored by eateries including the Chinese cuisine concept Impression of Lanzhou, the French fare spot La Crêpe à moi, and the Indian food restaurant Xpression — where it opened in 2023.
The My Oh My menu offers shawarma and falafel wraps, protein bowls — topped with either chicken, beef, or falafel — and platters that come with sides such as rice, fries, and salad.
Additionally, Ahmadi is already a successful restaurateur in the Bay Area. He is the owner of Chopan Kabob, which has three locations — one in Concord, Sacramento, and San Ramon — and has been in operation for over 16 years.
