According to an on-sale beer and wine license application pending since December 5, the international restaurant chain Ditas is opening its first stateside location at 562 Bridgeway in Sausalito. The oceanside spot is on the second floor, above The Trident — an “iconic restaurant” known for “serving seafood and steaks.”

Owner and CEO of Ditas USA, Nikita Khandheria, tells What Now San Francisco that Ditas in Sausalito will serve European-Asian cuisine, listing both Japanese and Italian plates as options. She shares that the goal of the restaurant’s fare is “escape from monotony” and hopes that the eatery will be a place that diners can return to routinely without becoming bored with the menu. Khandheria also clarifies that Ditas has received a liquor license and has hired a mixologist to develop a “well-tailored” cocktail program. WHISK, a “brand strategy, marketing, and creative agency based in San Francisco,” is behind the branding and publicity.

Ditas will function as a reservation-only restaurant, allowing customers to book at the beginning of each month. The space will be able to seat 138 diners, including outdoor seating, and the hours will be from 4:30 pm to 1 am, with the kitchen closing at 9:30 pm.

Ditas is predicted to open in early February 2023. Booking will open six weeks in advance of the opening date.
