Perry’s on Union Street has been a San Francisco tradition since its establishment in 1969. The American restaurant and bar is such an institution that even more than 50 years later, they are still making moves to expand.

This spring look out for Perry’s at 255 Alameda del Prado in Novato, which is the former site of Wild Fox. After the latter went out of business, owner Perry Butler was approached with the proposition of opening a new Perry’s restaurant in its place.

“It’s a very nice space,” Butler told What Now San Francisco in a phone call this week. “The landlord offered us a good lease, so we went for it. We should be ready to open this location in early May.”

Butler said that they executed the lease and swiftly began renovations last fall. The 4,945 square-foot restaurant space was still in fairly decent condition, complete with a bar and outdoor patio. Now, it has been transformed with Perry’s signature blue and white checked tablecloths, hexagonal tiled floor, and wood-paneled walls adorned with various memorabilia.

Butler adds that while the menu varies slightly at each location, expect Novato to have Perry’s signatures such as the Hamburger, Cobb Salad, and Prime Steaks. He recently applied for this location’s ABC license, so you can definitely look forward to the full bar serving all of Perry’s well-made libations.
