SAMS American Eatery at 1220 Market St. may have stayed open during the pandemic but even this establishment felt the need to take a step back and reassess. SAMS closed at the beginning of March to install new equipment and revamp their menu.

When they open doors again expect an entirely new look with the same high-quality diner fare that the Civic Center neighborhood has come to love. Owner Jeannie Kim tells What Now San Francisco that SAMS is scheduled to reopen in June, which is great news for those who have been craving their Korean Tacos and Fried Chicken.

Kim adds that the makeover isn’t the only thing we should look forward to in this space. In July, they will debut a nighttime concept called Harue. The details are still being fleshed out, but Kim says it will focus on modern Korean cuisine.

It will share the space with SAMS but only operate after sundown. We will be sure to post an update if we get more information. In the meantime, visit samssf.com.
