According to a recent permit application, SIGNAL Coffee Roasters is expanding — planning to open a new outpost in Downtown Berkeley.

Coming to 2130 Center Street, Suite 102, the eatery will land near establishments such as Bag O’ Crab, Daryoush, and Ippuku.

For readers who are unfamiliar with SIGNAL, the concept is known for its small-batch coffee specialty drinks made with locally roasted beans, as well as fresh pastries made by Bay Area vendors.

“I think when we can find a great coffee that is also a great farm, community, and smallholder that is doing things right — building community, sustainable ag practice, or doing concrete social good — we’re all over it,” Co-Owner Brendan Doherty previously shared with Roast Magazine

The anticipated opening date has not yet been announced. For updates, follow SIGNAL on Facebook and Instagram.
