The Bonacker, a new seafood restaurant from chef Brad Kilgore, is planned for 568 Sacramento St., San Francisco, CA 94111. The restaurant is expected to open in early 2027 in the former Leo’s Oyster Bar space, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Kilgore previously operated three restaurants at the Transamerica Pyramid Center, including Ama by Brad Kilgore, Café Sebastian and MadLab Kakigori. Those businesses closed earlier this year after the property was sold, according to the Chronicle.
The Bonacker will focus on seafood, with a particular emphasis on oysters. According to the Chronicle, the restaurant will serve three types of Bay Area or Northern California oysters along with one or two East Coast varieties.
Fresh-shucked oysters will be served with house-made sauces, including traditional preparations and versions incorporating ingredients such as Massaman curry powder. The restaurant’s name references Accabonac Harbor in East Hampton, New York, an area known for oyster production and the hometown of managing partner Julian Uribe.
The former Leo’s Oyster Bar space will undergo renovations by San Francisco designer Ken Fulk. The restaurant is expected to retain elements of the existing space while receiving updates for the new concept, according to the Chronicle.
