Artisanal cheese restaurant Mission Cheese closed its doors last December, after nearly ten years of business in Mission Dolores, and now it looks like a new tenant is swooping in.

The Korner Store has applied for a liquor license in the former cheese shop space, at 736 Valencia Street. What Now San Francisco reached out, but a representative for The Korner Store was not immediately available for comment.

It feels safe to assume that The Korner Store might be, well, a corner store (never mind the fact that it’s not actually on a corner), but the truth is we don’t have many details yet.

The space neighbors sweets cafe Dandelion Chocolate, and sits on the ground floor of a mid-size luxury apartment building. Nothing screams city living more than an apartment above a corner store, and while we don’t have an opening date, hopefully life for Mission Dolores residents will soon get a little more convenient.
