According to a pending on-sale beer and wine license application, The Punchdown is opening a new location in Sebastopol. The natural wine bar and eatery is eyeing a spot in the Barlow, an “industrial-chic shopping site” at 6770 McKinley Street #130 — where it will join residents like Acre Pizza, Blue Ridge Kitchen, and Taylor Lane Organic Coffee, to name a few.

Co-owners Lisa Costa and Daniel Looney outline their standards on The Punchdown website, explaining that they work predominantly with vineyards that use natural farming principles and prioritize low yields, hand-harvested, and hand-sorted fruit. At best, the winemakers intervene minimally throughout the entire wine-making process.

The Punchdown currently has one location in Oakland that’s open from Sunday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm and on Friday and Saturday from 12 pm to 11 pm.

Pertinent details like an opening date and the food menu haven’t been announced yet, but Bay Area residents can follow the upcoming wine shop on Instagram for updates.
