The Twelfth, a women’s sports bar celebrating female athletes and fans, is preparing to open at 1300 4th Street in San Rafael.
The new sports bar is set to open in the former home of Tam Commons Taproom & Kitchen, according to a recent liquor license application. Owners Isabella Woods and Soledad Jean-Pierre recently shared the news on the concept’s Instagram, saying they plan to welcome customers in Summer 2026. The Twelfth will focus on creating a space centered on women’s sports, offering food, drinks, and a community atmosphere where fans can gather, cheer, and connect.
The Twelfth was born from their shared passion for women’s sports and a desire to provide Marin with a dedicated space for female athletes and supporters. The concept reflects a broader movement to increase visibility for women’s sports, giving families and fans a venue where women’s games are always front and center.
The bar’s name references the “twelfth player,” a nod to the power of passionate fans. The site was selected for its proximity to downtown, accessibility, and potential for community engagement. The owners are using crowdfunding and local support to help bring the vision to life, highlighting the strong interest in a women-focused sports bar in the region.
The menu is expected to feature classic bar fare, shareable plates, and a range of beverages, all in a casual, social environment. While specific dishes have not been announced, The Twelfth aims to provide a welcoming, no-pressure spot for food, drinks, and game-day viewing.
Woods and Jean-Pierre emphasize the inclusive and community-oriented nature of the project. “The Twelfth will be a space where The Twelfth Player – the passionate, loyal, and unwavering fans, come together to celebrate every game, play, achievement and milestone of women’s sports. The Twelfth – Marin’s First Women’s Sports Bar,” they said.
