Cedar’s Tacos is planning an Orange County restaurant, according to the company’s website. The Southern California taco concept currently operates a pop-up stand in Bell and states that a permanent restaurant location is “coming soon to OC.” The company has not yet announced a street address or opening date for the Orange County location.

Cedar’s Tacos was founded by Mohamad Nabir Farhat, who started the halal Mexican food concept as a food stand in front of his family’s meat market in Bell. Farhat developed the concept while studying biology at UCLA, drawing from the Mexican and Arab communities around South Los Angeles. Cedar’s combines Mexican-style tacos with halal ingredients.

The company’s website says it uses 100% Zabiha grass-fed beef and fresh ingredients. Its current menu includes tacos, quesatacos and mulitas, along with larger dishes such as burritos, quesadillas, nachos and asada fries. The menu allows customers to choose a protein, with dishes served with cilantro, onions, and the restaurant’s sauces.

Among the current offerings are tacos made with a double tortilla, protein, cilantro and onions, plus Cedar’s spicy sauce, green salsa and avocado salsa. The quesataco includes a double tortilla and shredded cheese, while the burrito is made with a 12-inch tortilla, beans, rice, protein and the same selection of sauces.

The company’s website also lists a current pop-up stand at 4846 Florence Ave. in Bell, where Cedar’s Tacos serves customers while the Orange County restaurant is in development. The site says the future restaurant’s hours are still to be determined.

Cedar’s Tacos has already catered more than 300 events, according to its website, and describes its food as authentic tacos prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked on-site. The company has not yet provided details about the Orange County restaurant’s size, menu changes, or opening timeline.
