According to a recent article from The Everout, The Kite Cafe will open at the former Miri’s at Golden Gardens space at 8498 Seaview Place NW.

A representative of The Kite Cafe was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request.

According to The Kite Cafe’s website, they plan to open their doors sometime in May of this year in Ballard.

A recent article from My Ballard states, “Ballardites Tony Meyer and Matt Kelly own The Kite Cafe, which will serve east-coast style sandwiches, salads, drinks, and snacks. According to Seattle Parks, Meyer and Kelly aim to “bring nourishing community-driven food experiences to Seattle parks, starting with Golden Gardens.”

As previously mentioned, The Kite Cafe will take over what was formerly home to Miri’s at the Golden Gardens. “Miri’s at Golden Gardens closed in December 2022, after a five-year run on the beach. Seattle Parks had been seeking a new long-term tenant for the space and selected The Kite Cafe following a request for proposal process that ended in October,” the My Ballard article states.

“Seattle Parks said they selected a concessionaire “who best demonstrated the ability to provide innovative, affordable, healthy, safe, and reliable food service to park patrons while paying reasonable concession fees to SPR.”
